qPCR has emerged as a powerful tool in molecular labs, both in research and diagnostic settings. However, even though qPCR is increasing in popularity, it is also being recognized that there are some challenges associated with the technology. Fortunately, many of these limitations can be addressed with standardized best practices. The recently published MIQE guidelines address the best practices aspect of qPCR with the goal of producing more consistent, comparable and reliable data. An integral part of the guidelines is quality control, in particular nucleic acid quantification prior to qPCR.
Referenced in the guidelines, the Thermo Scientific NanoDrop Spectrophotometer allows researchers to quickly and easily run quality control checks of nucleic acid and protein samples.
Learn how to improve your QC for qPCR including specific NanoDrop™ applications.
