Prepping for OCAP - In the Home and at the Headend
Several major MSOs are gearing up for the OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP), a CableLabs-specified middleware that aims to give cable a uniform footprint for advanced digital applications and services designed to run on a new, powerful range of "hosts" (i.e. digital TVs and set-tops). In addition to checking with operators that are prepping for OCAP, this panel will also discuss how operators can migrate that way with the help of pre-OCAP implementations. Potential panelists for millions of legacy digital boxes that are unable to handle the full OCAP stack.
