Strengthening the Supply Chain in a Complex and Competitive World
View
On-Demand
Citing globalization and the rise of Asia, many industry analysts,
reporters and pundits have written the obituary for manufacturing
in America. But there is a growing body of evidence, including case
studies and numbers, suggesting that U.S. industry is in fact adapting
in creative ways to compete with - and overcome - the lure of low
cost alternatives. Siemens Corporation CEO George Nolen will explore
how U.S. companies are tapping into innovation to strengthen - and
in some cases grow - their U.S. operations.
He will discuss specific solutions and examples within the perspective
of the whole supply chain including totally integrated automation,
remote monitoring, security, transportation, distribution, and global
sourcing. With experience across different industries such as process
industries, industrial chemicals, healthcare, automotive, telecommunications
and energy, Nolen will draw upon his experience as a provider and
customer to convey an accurate picture of how U.S. business is transforming
itself to stay relevant and competitive in an increasingly complex
global marketplace.

RFID in the CPI
View
On-Demand
"Radio Frequency Identification" or "RFID" as it
is more commonly known has broad application across numerous industries
throughout the world. Our panel discussion focuses on what RFID is and
its usefulness for companies operating in the industrial chemical processing
industry. We will look beyond the “buzz” of the Wal-Mart mandate
and show how RFID can be a valuable tool in the areas of security, asset
protection and equipment management, among others. In this discussion
we will take a look specifically at these areas and the benefits this
new technology can bring to the CPI. You will find out how RFID is being
used to solve problems in the field, allowing you to make more informed
decisions about your own company’s use of RFID."

RFID: A Practical Perspective for Food Manufacturers
View
On-Demand
The food industry's focus on food safety, mainly with the 2002 Bioterrorism
Act, has mandated one step backward, one step forward traceability.
To help them do this, many companies have turned to Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID). RFID tags - data memory chips - are affixed
to a product, case, pallet or container and store product data.
In addition to aiding with compliance, RFID tags have practical
applications in supply chain management, product identification,
equipment management, quality management, and consumer confidence.
This panel will explore RFID technology in the food industry - what
it is, its benefits, and its practicality. Panelists will discuss
what is necessary and what is not.

The FDA’s Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) initiative
is designed to transform the way drugs are made now and in the future.
The need for manufacturers to understand how their processes work
and how technology can influence these processes is more important
than ever. Our panel of industry experts will discuss PAT and other
quality control initiatives such as 21 CFR Part 11 and how the convergence
of these can transform the industry.
