Dale Setlak
Vice President and Chief Technical Officer
AuthenTec

Dale Setlak co-founded the company and is now the Vice President and chief Technical Officer. In this role, Mr. Setlak is focused on the research for future AuthenTec products. Mr. Setlak was the original Chief Systems Architect for FingerLoc and is the source of many of the concepts underlying the company's patents. Mr. Setlak brings 25 years of research and development experience to AuthenTec. Prior to joining the original FingerLoc team in 1996, Mr. Setlak served as Senior Principle Engineer with Harris' Electronic Systems Sector. Prior to joining Harris in 1990, Mr. Setlak was Senior Systems Architect for factory automation at CTG-Scientific Systems Services and was the Senior Instrumentation Engineer on research and advanced power plant control systems at Babcock and Wilcox. Mr. Setlak holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Ohio State University and a MS in Computer Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.

Steve Goldberg
Business Development
Venrock Associates

Steve Goldberg is currently doing business development for Venrock Associates, a New York-based venture capital firm. From 2000-2005 he was CEO of Arcwave, Inc. (formerly CoWave Networks), Campbell, CA. Steve has over 25 over years of general management and technical experience with an emphasis in networking and wireless communications. Prior to joining CoWave, he was Vice President of Research and Development at Nokia Internet Communications. There, he had overall responsibility for Research and Development with a $70 million budget and over 275 engineers worldwide. He helped grow their business from $50 million to over $250 million in 12 months. Prior to this, he was President and CEO of Verticom, Inc. He built up a new management team, streamlined many processes, and helped restart the company. From 1995-1998 he created and grew the Wireless Communications Division at Cylink Corporation to be a $25M+ business which was sold to P-Com Corp. for over $60M. The division was profitable and was part of the successful Cylink IPO in February 1996. In addition to the above, he has also held senior management and engineering positions at Trimble Navigation, Applied Signal, HP, and California Microwave.

Steve holds a Ph.D. E.E. from the University of California at Santa Barbara and M.S.E.E. and B.S.E.E degrees from Washington University in St Louis, Mo. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a past president of the IEEE Communications Society, Santa Clara Section, and is a member of the advisory board of Zap Ventures, Echogent Systems, and Celluride. He enjoys amateur radio (WQ6L) and figure skating.

Prasad Dhond

Prasad Dhond is an Applications Specialist with TI's Standard Linear and Logic Group in Sherman, TX. He has more than two years of experience with logic applications including voltage level translation. He holds a BSEE from the University of Texas at Austin.


Patrick Morgan, Ph.D.
Product Manager
Silicon Laboratories

Dr. Morgan has served as a Product Manager at Silicon Laboratories for the company's wireless products since December 2000. Previously, Dr. Morgan was an assistant professor of electrical engineering at Texas A&M University and a member of the senior technical staff at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Duke University and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.


Kevin Walsh

Business Development Manager
RF Micro Devices

Kevin Walsh is the Business Development Manager of Power Amplifiers and Front End Components at RF Micro Devices. His primary focus is worldwide marketing and product development for power amplifier modules and transmit models for the GSM/GPRS/EDGE and the CDMA/WCDMA markets. Prior to joining RFMD in 2000, Kevin had 12 years of experience in the wireless industry focusing on customer-centric development with IBM Microelectronics, Siemens Microelectronics and Alpha Industries. Kevin holds a BSEE from University of Massachusetts with a concentration in microwaves and semiconductor technology along with a post graduate Certificate of Technical Marketing from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and course work at MIT Sloan School.

Michael Keeley

Michael Keeley is the CDMA Market Segment Manager at Spirent Communications, Performance Analysis-Wireless and Positioning. Mike is responsible for defining, marketing and representing the CDMA2000 line of test systems offered by Spirent, including C2K-ATS, EV-DO ATS, AirAccess C2K and APEX C2K. Mike represents Spirent Communications at CDMA related standards bodies, including CDG, CCF and 3GPP2. Prior to joining Spirent in 2000, Mike was a member of the CDMA Terminal Interoperability Lab at Lucent Technologies for over two years. Mike received his BSEE and MEng from Cornell University in 1995 and 1996, respectively, and his MBA from New York University in 2000.


Richard Theiss
Product Manager/Senior Applications Engineer
Boonton Electronics (A Wireless Telecom Group Company)

Richard Theiss is a Product Manager/Senior Applications Engineer for Boonton Electronics (A Wireless Telecom Group Company) and he has been with the company since 2001. Richard has more than 10 years experience marketing and supporting high performance test instrumentation. Prior to joining Boonton Electronics he was a Product Manager for LeCroy Corporation’s digital oscilloscope and PXI digitizer groups. Richard holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Boston University, an MBA from Iona College Hagan School of Business and has completed graduate course work in data communications at Polytechnic University.

Joseph E. Kovacs
Product Marketing Manager

Joseph E. Kovacs is the Product Marketing Manager for the RF and High Frequency Measurements division of National Instruments in Austin, Texas. For over ten years, Joseph has focused on the RF industry, and prior to joining National Instruments, he was a Product Marketing Manager for Agilent Technologies’ wireless division. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with Highest Honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


Matthias Weber
Senior Product Marketing Manager
Willtek Communications

Matthias Weber has served as Willtek’s Director of product marketing since July 2004. Mr. Weber has been with Willtek since October 1999, when he joined as a product marketing manager. From October 1995 to September 1999, Mr. Weber served as Manager in Product Planning for Sony’s mobile phone division. From October 1989 to September 1995, Mr. Weber served at Schlumberger Technologies, first as a development engineer and later as a product manager for mobile phone test equipment. Matthias Weber holds a master degree of electrical engineering from Technical University Munich.

In addition, Mr. Weber co-authored two books on GSM: "An introduction to GSM (1995)" and "GSM and Personal Communication Handbook (1998)" both published by Artech House.

Jon Adams

Jon Adams is an expert in wireless systems and communications, with his current focus on ZigBee and Ultra Wideband technologies, representing Freescale on the board of directors for the ZigBee Alliance, as president of the UWB Forum, and as a voting member in the IEEE 802.11, .15. and .16 Working Groups. Additional interests include RFID, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, as well as the impact of these on cellular telephony and the consumer experience. Jon presents and is often interviewed or published on these technologies and their impacts on or potentials for the home, commercial and industrial environments. Prior to Freescale, Jon spent 17 years at the NASA/Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he was the cognizant engineer or manager for multiple Earth-orbiting or Mars-bound telecommunications or radar payloads. He has BSE and MSEE degrees from UCLA.
